EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILE TYPOGRAPHY
EXPERIMENTAL TEXTILE TYPOGRAPHY
Having rarely approached crochet in such an experimental way before, I began this project eager to discover new possibilities within the medium. Through the process, I found sustainable ways to incorporate yarn scraps into my work that were both tactilely engaging and visually compelling. I experimented with a range of techniques, including crocheting, knotting, sewing, gluing, shredding, burning, and repeatedly attaching and reattaching materials. Ultimately, some of my favorite samples emerged unexpectedly through moments of experimentation and chance. I embraced imperfections throughout the process, allowing missed stitches, uneven knots, and loose ends to remain, celebrating the spontaneity and character they brought to each piece.
