For this character redesign, I chose Barbie to question and parody the effects of capitalism, consumerism, Eurocentric beauty standards, patriarchy, and recent lawmaking on reproductive rights. Barbie contorts herself and is physically restricted by hostile materials, intended to represent a reflection of the male gaze upon her.

Each piece is up for interpretation and can be read multidimensionally.
