This wayfinding and identity signage system was designed for Pratt Institute to create a cohesive, interactive experience across campus while reinforcing the institution's visual identity. The project explores how environmental graphics can reimagine navigation through experimental typography, materiality, and spatial design.

CHALLENGE: The project challenged me to create a cohesive wayfinding system that helped users navigate a complex environment clearly and intuitively. The goal was to reduce confusion by developing a visual language that communicated direction, location, and hierarchy while complementing the surrounding architecture and environment.

AUDIENCE: The system was designed for first-time and returning visitors navigating the space. The audience included people with varying levels of familiarity with the environment, making accessibility, legibility, and intuitive navigation essential to the success of the design.

APPROACH: The visual system balances clarity and aesthetics through consistent typography, iconography, color, and hierarchy. A modular signage system creates recognizable patterns across the space, while layered opaque and translucent acrylic explores the interplay of positive and negative space. Shifting with light and perspective, the signage transforms functional wayfinding into sculptural elements while maintaining legibility.

OUTCOME: The final wayfinding system creates a clear, cohesive navigation experience while reinforcing the identity of the environment. The project demonstrates an ability to translate complex information into an intuitive visual system through thoughtful typography, hierarchy, and environmental graphics. It brings together principles of information design, visual identity, and spatial communication to create a functional and engaging experience.
